Club members not caught (out! ) by the Guards!

On a tough course and windy conditions we had 24 CSH members compete in the BHAA Garda XC race in the Phoenix Park - a home run for our club!. In a combined start it was 2miles for the ladies and 4miles for the men. First home of the 6 CSH ladies was Shirley Mitchell in 15mins6secs followed by Brid Ryan in 15mins49sec and then Marie Norris in 15mins57sec. These results earned Shriley and Marie 3rd place in their categories - well done ladies. Also putting in great runs for the ladies were Claire Egan, Margaret Moloney and Ollie Fenelan. In the mens race we had 18 competitors with first home Jason Harte in 26mins26secs. He was followed by his team mate Paul Carolan in 26mins26sec and hot on his heels in a great run was Martin Prunty in 26mins56sec. As usual we had great battles down the field with Tony Keegan finishing in 28mins25secs followed across the line by Owen McFeely in 28mins27secs. Also featuring in a close battle were Joe Delaney in 31mins5secs, Brian Doyle in 31mins22secs and BHAA debutant Eugene Kelly in 31mins35sec. In the mens prizes on the day was Stephen Lynch in a time of exactly 30mins which earned him 2nd place in his cateory - congrats Stephen. Fulll club results are in the results section of the website. The next BHAA race is on 3rd Mar at the NUI Maynooth/AIB race - this is a flat race with again 4miles for men and 2miles for ladies. Hope to see you all there.
