Paul wins Silver for Ireland

Well done to club member Paul Cowhie for his silver team medal at the recent British and Irish Masters Cross Country International event that was held in Bellahouston Park in Glasgow on 26th Nov 2011. This event had men and women’s masters teams competing from Ireland, England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland. Paul was representing Ireland on the Men’s Over 45 team which came 2nd to England and ahead of Northern Ireland in 3rd. On an individual basis Paul was 9th home in his category. The Irish performed very well with Peter Matthews (DSD) winning the men’s race. The Irish teams scored well in many categories with 1st in Men O35 and Men O60 and 2nd in Men O50. The ladies teams also performed on the day with 2nd place in 5 categories. Overall, both the Irish men’s team and the ladies team came 2nd to give them 2nd place in the competition.
