Results from Donore Harriers Jingle Bells 5k

On 3rd Dec thirty one runners from the club in six teams braved the cold conditions to run in the annual Donore Harriers Jingle Bells 5k race. Travelling the short distance to the 15acres road in the Phoenix Park it was a busy start line with many CSH vests in evidence. First home for the club men and also 3rd in his category (M35) was Dave Sweeney in 17min20sec followed directly by Ger Clerkin in 17mins24sec and then Jason Harte in 17mins51sec. First home for the club women was Ann Horan in 21mins1sec followed by Brid Ryan in 21mins19sec and then Angie McElligot in 21mins35sec. Some great personal performances on the day were delivered including John Murphy in 22min17sec which was 1min22sec faster than his last 5k race in Lucan and Stephen Downey 25mins54sec knocking over 2mins off his previous PB. Some athletes finishing well in their categories were Mags McCreary F55 – 2nd, Marie Norris F40 – 4th, Tony Keegan M55 – 5th and Margaret Moloney F50 – 5th. On a great day for the club it was great to hear the club name being called as each of the club members crossed the finishing line – well done to all.
