Tony wins CSH Christmas 2mile handicap
On a freezing windy Christmas Eve 16 tough runners from CSH braved the elements to run in our 2mile handicap race. It was held at the Polo Grounds - 2 laps. As usual John prepared the handicaps and Ruth got the race underway followed by Tom, Mairead and Keith. Tony's form began to show early in the race as he started to pick off the runners in front of him and went into the lead early. He won with a gap of 37sec ahead of Ronan. The competition for 2nd place was much closer with Ronan only 2sec ahead of Miko. Ronan also recorded the fast time on the day with 12mins 24sec. Full details are in the results section of the website.
Special mention has to go to Paul Carolan who ran in his own race running a 2mile race on the main road. Paul somehow went to the wrong start line after leaving the clubhouse!! Amazing what people will do to win a race. Well done on a great time.
