Well done to Stephen

Twenty hardy runners showed up at the clubhouse on Wednesday 28th Dec for Willie's 4 mile handicap race - it certainly was a great way to get rid of some of the Christmas excesses! Though it seemed cold before the race once we got running it didn't seem to matter. Soon after the first mile we turned onto the closed road and were running into the wind. It was only as we started into the last mile that we got the benefit of the wind to bring us home. As it was a sealed handicap the fastest runners crossed the line first, 1st home was Michael Coryn (25mins 6sec) followed by our English visitor Alun Rodgers and then a very close battle between Paul Cullen and Grainne Butler. After tea and cakes the handicap results were revealed, 1st was Stephen Lynch followed by Damien Byrne and then Paul Cullen. Well done to all who took part.
