For the final BHAA XC race of the season we had 17 CSH runners racing at the NCF Floodlit 5k race at Malahide RC. The 13 men and 4 ladies lined up together for this combined race on a tough course with some sharp corners made all the more interesting as it an evening race. First home for CSH on the night was Martin Prunty in 20mins46sec and then Eoin Keally in 21mins25sec followed closely Mick Fennell in 21mins33sec. As usual the CSH runners battled each other throughout the field, Colm Brady, Kevin Lenahan and Angie MeElligot all finshed within 5sec of each other. Likewise Brian Corr finished in exactly 24mins and Bren Farrell was just behind him in 24mins6sec. Marie Norris and Joe Delaney also finished close together in times of 24mins52sec and 24mins59sec respectively followed by Brian Doyle in 25mins6sec. Marie also won 1st place in her category – congratulations to her. It was great to see so many CSH runners competing especially at a mid-week race – well done to all. The evening was finished off by great refreshments and food in the clubhouse. It has been a great BHAA winter season and it has been fantastic to see so many CSH runners at every race and so many enjoying the BHAA events for the first time. Let’s keep it going for the BHAA summer season which commences on 31st Mar in St Anne’s Park.
