On a perfect day for running last Sunday 22 CSH members competed in the Lucan Harriers 5k road race. Looking absolutely fanstastic in our latest club gear we were well photographed before the race even started!. First home for the CSH men was Dave Sweeney in a fantastic time of 16mins45sec which earned him 10th place overall in the race - congrats Dave. Second home was Ger Clerkin in 17mins24sec which equalled his PB which was a great result given that he is just a couple of weeks back training after 3months off with an injury. Ger was followed closely across the line by Ger Clerkin in a time of 17mins33sec and the 4th man on the CSH team was Kevin Lenehan in 18mins29sec. First home for the ladies was Angie McElligot in a PB of 19mins29sec - again Mayo training yeilding results! Second lady home was Deirdre Waldron in 20mins22sec who crossed the line with Tony Keegan. Third lady was Shirley Mitchell in 21mins14sec - again a great time for Shirley who is returning from injury. 4th lady for CSH was Marie Norris in 21mins34sec. As always CSH runners battled with each other throughout the field - Stephen Lynch and Brian Doyle had 1sec between them and Ollie Fenelon, Tom Turner and Stephen Downey had only 8sec between them. Well done to everyone on a great day for CSH - we will be back next year.
